Survivor: Redemption Island - Cast Ranking Pt. 2

On my last post (Redemption Island Cast Ranking - Pt. 1), we ranked the castaways from 18 to 10. We lost 4 Zapateras and 5 Ometepes. Now its time to rank the rest of the cast.

***** MORE AFTER THE JUMP! *****

9th. Grant Mattos (Voted Out on Day 35 ; Lost Duel on Day 36)

It must suck for Grant to lose the Duel against Andrea of all people. But as a whole Grant was a follower. He believed Rob, he thought of Rob as a bestfriend but unfortunately for him, Rob wasn't here to make that much friends and establish all of his promises and Grant got laid on the wayside. Grant was a good sidekick, kind of like Big Tom to Rob on All-Stars, but that's all there is to it, Grant is a sidekick, nothing else. And that my friends, is the entire Grant storyline.

And oh wait, he was so bitter after the show he stopped returning Rob's phone calls. Wow.

8th. Ralph Kiser (Voted Out on Day 30 ; Lost Duel on Day 33)

At the beginning of the game, I was annoyed with Ralph. He seems to like play his redneck story to the highest degree with his rooster crowing. Thank God that got dropped a few more episodes in. The good thing about Ralph is that he is loyal to the bitter end. His loyalty to Sarita was really sweet and I give him mad props for that. And all of his votes were just so lol-worthy, I believe there was only one vote he didn't misspell, I believe it was his vote for Rob the night he got voted out. Anyway, Ralph is just one big very hairy teddy bear that is a lovable character. Good for him.

7th. Julie Wolfe (Voted Out on Day 27 ; Lost Duel on Day 28)

Julie was a free-spirit kind of person which I love. I think that she had all the right intentions on everything she did, its just not executed at the right time. Julie was a big character pre-merge when she had the option to flip over to Russell and get him to have the majority or stick with the six that she already has. Good thing she did stick with the six or she would have been ten spots lower. Haha. But I do like Julie, I like her attitude, I like her as a character, too bad we didn't see much on the show.

6th. Ashley Underwood (Voted Out on Day 38)

Ashley had the right plan which is to stick with Natalie and Rob knowing that they will be the three people in the finals. Unfortunately for her, Rob didn't want her around and so off she went. For the first couple of episodes, Ashley was very much nonexistent, to the fact that all we know about her is that she picks hair from Natalie's armpits and cuts Rob's mustache. When it came down to the Ometepe six, that's when she shone. Its like seeing Natalie Bolton from Fans vs. Favorites be the bitch that we grew to love. She kicked ass in the challenges too. They say that she would have won if she made it to the end but who knows?

5th. Stephanie Valencia (Voted Out on Day 16 ; Lost Duel on Day 17)

Stephanie, on the first three episodes, I didn't like her. But then her passion to stay in the game got to me and I started to like her. She's a little firecracker and if only she was in the right alliance and made it to the merger, she would have been a really great character to watch out. Shame neither of those happened but nevertheless, she was a great character to watch.

4th. Sarita White (Voted Out on Day 18 ; Lost Duel on Day 19)

I loved Sarita. I really did. She was always the target because she was labelled as the weakest (which is weird when they have Zombie Steve on the tribe) and she was labelled as the leader of the Zapatera six (again, weird when you have people like Mike and Steve on the tribe). Those alone made me love Sarita because she was a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, Zapatera seemed to have lost stride in winning challenges and she got the wrong side of the stick. I felt for her when she got blindsided and she didn't have her stuff with her but she's a good sport so good for her.

3rd. Rob Mariano (Winner - finally)

After playing four times, Rob finally won. Fourth time's the charm. Rob had such a hold on Ometepe that it was amazing to see him get all the votes of the jury. Well, almost. People might say that this game was tailor-made for Rob since he was playing with idiots in Ometepe, but we only saw snippets of what happened. Sure, Natalie might be that stupid but I don't think Andrea and Ashley are that stupid. They believed Rob because Rob made sure that nobody was talking to one another. He made them believe that they are their right-hand person. He applied the same strategy he did in All-Stars, something that he was supposed to be awarded but because real friendships were involved in that one, he got the bitter end. This time, he played with people he have only met so it was easier for him to stab them in the back so brutally.

I am happy though that Rob finally won which means this will be the last time that we see him but I wouldn't keep my hopes up. With that being said, my hat's off to Rob for an amazing game this time.

2nd. Andrea Boehlke (Voted Out on Day 32 ; Returned on Day 36 ; Voted Out on Day 37)

Andrea I believe got a pretty raw deal when Matt decided to be this moral person and tell Rob everything, basically throwing her under the bus along the way. *sighs* The good thing about Andrea is that we saw her game mode when she got back into the game when she tried to get the girls to vote for Rob. Sadly for her (I seem to say this more often now), Rob has the Idol, the girls knew that and Natalie was so keen in licking Rob's feet that the plan was just never put into motion. If given the chance, I think Andrea could have done extremely well. Its just a matter of who she's up against.

1st. Mike Chiesl (Voted Out on Day 22 ; Lost Duel on Day 36)

This might come as a shock to some but I pretty liked Mike the last few episodes. He had a genuine soul in him and you could see his kindness is just genuine. Mike was a competitor, he just wanted to be in the game so badly that he wanted to win every duel. He's an all around nice guy, a veteran, what more can you ask from him? So even if Mike didn't win this season, he is good enough to be on the top of this list.

So there you go! From eighteen to one. You may not agree with what I've listed here but that's how I perceived them. Again, congratulations to Rob Mariano for finally winning a Reality Show.

Up next, we head back to The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business!
